Different paint types

Find the best information and the best deals on different paint roller frames.

It is very important to understand a little bit about all the several kinds of paint. Before you select whether to use a paint roller frame or a regular paint brush review the following information. In this day and age there are so many different paints to select that anyone that only slightly know what to choose can walk away with a headache. Paint falls into two main types, oil based and water based. Varnishes and stains also fall under the same categories.

Paints that are oil based come in gloss, semi gloss, or matte. Oil based paint happens to wear well and makes for a good cleaning surface. Oil paint is good to use on doors, windows, or anywhere that needs a protection finish. You can use oil based paint on wall and ceiling if you need a tough washable surface. It's worth remembering that if you paint over wall paper it will make it a lot harder to remove in the long run.

When painting with a water based paint it is a lot easier to work with and the tools can be washed with water. When painting your ceilings or walls water based paint is a good choice and also good for textured surfaced outside.

On any new surface it is a good idea to use an undercoat or a primer. By doing this you will stop any paint from being absorbed. It will also provide a surface for the paint to stick to. The primer the you select should be manufactured by the same company. You can use water based primer for oil paint but you can't use an oil based primer for water based paint.

The number of layers the you will need depends on how porous the surface is, and the heaviness of the paint you are applying. The overall quality of the paint has a big factor too.
